Happy Father's Day!

If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times....my Daddy is the best! We have a very special relationship and are super close. I don't know what I would do without him!

Happy Father's Day to a truly AMAZING Father!

And another Happy Father's Day to my wonderful Father-in-Law Jerry.

I love you both VERY, VERY much!

The Countdown to London Begins!

50 days and counting until Opening Ceremonies of the 2012 Summer Olympic Games - July 27! I am soooo super excited! For the past 2 months I have been working on a project at work that has an Olympic element, including Olympic athletes. Working on that has got me geared up even more. And let me tell you the rigamroar you have to go through to get IOC (International Olympic Committee) approval on anything! It has been quite the experience.

My favorite summer sports to watch are sand volleyball, track, swimming, gymnastics and synchronized swimming. You can follow @London2012 on Twitter to get the latest news as well as following each sport individually, like @L2012BeachVball, with schedule updates and medal announcements. Here is a link to the entire schedule for this year's Games.

I am especially interested in watching track this year because I graduated with a guy who hopefully be competing for another medal - Wallace Spearmon! In 2008 he "technically" won a silver in the 200m right behind Jamacia's Usain Bolt, but after official review, they noticed Wallace stepped on the lane line so he was disqualified. Technicalities like that are dumb. I still consider him my FHS Silver Medalist! What's even cooler is that my dad was his track coach in high school! We all love Wallace and when he is in town, he tries to stop in and see dad.

I always feel so much American Pride during the Olympic Games (by the way, you never refer to it as simply The Olympics - not on brand). I love seeing our country dominate in medal count and I love knowing that we live in the best country in the world. It always gets to me to see the Gold Medal winners cry when our National Anthem is played. So moving!

With my built up excitement I have decided to throw an Olympic-themed watch party for the Opening Ceremonies. I am so excited and I think I will have to pull in Mrs. Jones' superior party planning skills to help me make it super cute! Kendall - start putting on your thinking cap :)  We have 50 days to make it fabulous!
