Jeni's Bachelorette Party

Last weekend was Jeni's bachelorette party in Memphis. Kendall was the hostess with the mostest. First we started off the weekend with a lingere brunch at Kendall's house. It had a french theme and of course Kendall had it decorated to the max.

The group - Keith came home at just the right time to take the pic.

Me and the Bride at the Brunch

Jeni is opening the gift I gave her.

After the brunch we headed off to the Nail Bar in Harbor Town of Memphis. I got a manicure and pedicure and it was heaven. We got to bring our own food and drink to the Nail Bar as well as a movie to watch. So what movie did we bring? Why Father of the Bride of course!

I was REALLY excited about my wine and pedicure.

Jeni and I showing off our pretty toes.

After all of our feet were shaved and hands massaged and our nails painted, we headed back to Kendall's house and everybody took a nap. It reminded me of the scene in Gone with the Wind when Scarlett O'Hara and the other girls strip down to their under garments and take a nap during the party.

We all woke up, primped, poofed and were ready to party. Dinner was first on the agenda at Molly Fontane's which is an old, victorian house turned into a tappas restaurant. After dinner we headed out on the town.

Jeni was REALLY excited about dinner.

Me and Collin at dinner...yummy.

The best part of the night was probably our mode of transportation - the party bus driven by Willie. We rented a bus that had its own light show, traveling bar, dancing pole and music. Needless to say we rocked out and danced the entire time we were on the bus. Eventually we just got back on the bus and told Willie to just drive around. It was awesome! WILLIE! Deltas on the Bus!
Our name tags read: Mer 1 & Mer 2

As always, it was so good to see all of my friends again. Up next....the wedding!

2 Merediths Together Again

This past weekend was Jeni's bachelorette party in Memphis. On Friday night I drove down to Little Rock and spent the night with my other Meredith....Meredith Collin Ward that is. We had a blast together again! We first had pizza at Gusanos. Collin has been living in Washington DC this summer and she had been craving it so we just had to go. Collin and I got pizza dip for an appetizer and the two boys got salads. We thought that was pretty funny.

After dinner we went next door to the Flying Saucer. They have a wall of 200 beers!!After we had our fix of beer, we decided to go to the Looney Bin. This was my very first experience at a comedy club and it was so much fun! Next time we are in Little Rock we are going again.

I had a great night with my wonderful friend. We got up the next day, picked Kels up at the airport and headed to Memphis. Stay tuned for Bachelorette Party pics....

What the?????

JD has been in Greece for the past 2.5 months. He comes home in August. So I'm guessing all the guys he went with decided not to shave the entire time they are over there. I have to say this is the first time EVER I have seen facial hair on this brother. It is kind of weirding me out. I still love you though brother. Can't wait until you come home!

How many sorority girls does it take to screw in a light bulb?

100 - 1 to screw it in and 99 to make a t-shirt about the event!

Haha that is one of my favorite jokes and if you have ever been in a sorority you know it is exaclty true. We had a t-shirt for every event! And when I say every event, I mean EVERY event. We would even get multiple shirts for one thing.

So after 4 years in a sorority, you can imagine how many t-shirts I accumulated. And all the shirts we got were really cute so I didn't want to throw them away. Therefore, I took 25 DDD shirts and had a friend make me a t-shirt quilt out of them. It turned out so amazing! I am glad I did it. Each t-shirt holds so many memories from my years as a Delta with all of my sorority sisters. I am excited for in the future when I can look back at the quilt and remember all the great times I had.

Here Comes the Bride

I found out that another one of my really good friends is getting married! Megan and I have been friends since high school. We became really close senior year when we were in Student Council and bible study together. We became such good friends that we decided to be roommates freshman year in college. We went through rush together and experienced all the "firsts" of college together. We even had two fish - Wednesday and Thursday and we promptley killed both (accidently of course). At the end of our sophomore year, she moved to Little Rock to go to nursing school and has been there ever since. With our busy schedules we don't get to see much of each other but whenever we do, we pick up right where we left off and it seems like we haven't missed a day. She is one of the most dependable people I know and has the sweetest heart anybody could have.

Congrats Meg and Chad. I can't wait to celebrate with you in November!

I finally got a Camera!!

Whoop Whoop!! Yes that's right I got my camera. My deadline was before this weekend when I travel to Memphis for Jeni's Bachelorette party. After church, Ryan and I went camera shopping and I finally found a good one for a good price at Sam's. Here are my first two pictures - my two boys :)

Leopard Shoes, Linguini and Legally Blonde

This past Saturday was fabulous! It was a fun girls day filled with leopard shoes, linquini and Legally Blonde. All of my Smith aunts (Laura, Susan, Julie and Tina) and their cousins (Helen Ann and Jo Lynn) come up the hill on Saturday for the day. We started off with a mexican lunch and then we went shopping.

My aunts are bad influence on me when we shop :) We started off at Masons for their big sale and then went to the mall. We were at the mall for more than 2.5 hours and we only made it to 3 stores. At the first store we all made our purchases and when we were walking out we all found something else that we "couldn't live without" so we spent another 30 minutes debating on our other finds.

One of my big goals of the day was to hopefully purchase the leopoard shoes I have been eye balling for a while. And SUCCESS! They were on sale at Warrens so I was able to get them. Score! Here are my new shoes.

After shopping we had a great dinner at Theo's off of Dickson street. I had a chicken linguini which was delicious! I also had one of their famous mojitos, which is my all-time favorite drink. They have the best in town! All though our food was delicious our waitress was TERRIBLE. She must not have had a great day because she was very mean to all of us. That or she just didn't care because she knew she was going to get to add gratuity to our bills.

After dinner we crossed the street to the Walton Arts Center to see Legally Blonde. We had great seats and the show was hilarious!

Over all it was a great girls day and I can't wait to do it agian.

Interesting Fact for this Interesting Day

Today is 123456789 Day which means: 12:34:56 p.m. on 7/08/09

123456789 Day: Big moment comes at 12:34:56 on 7/08/09
Georgia Garvey, Chicago Tribune

For the digitally inclined, Wednesday marks a cool spot in sequential history. At exactly 12:34:56, the time and date will be 12:34:56 7/08/09. That only happens once -- or twice -- every 100 years, so for some, it's worth celebrating.

4th of July and Baby Bokermann

He is here! He is here!! Mark William Bokermann, Jr. arrived at 5:15 a.m. on July 3. Will weighed 4 lbs and was 18.5 inches long. Both he and Tracey are doing well. We hear that Will will have to be in the NICU for 6 weeks but we are all praying that he can come home before that. Thank you for all of the prayers. Kinley got a pink golf club set from Will as a "big sister" gift. That smart girl is still trying to figure out how Will got out of the hospital to get the gift for her.

This year's 4th of July was one of the best I've had in a long time. I got to spend the entire weekend with my boy and we also got to spend time with both of our families. Since I still don't have a camera (it keeps falling further and further down my priority list of things need) I only got pics when we were with mom and dad and she had her camera.

We spent most of the weekend at our friend Clint's house. A lot of our friends were there. Clint purchased an above ground pool. The boys spent the majority of the time filling it up, draining it and moving it, filling it up again and then trying to figure out why it wasn't filling all the way. It was pretty funny to watch. All of the girls just sat and watched the boys work so hard.

On the night of the 4th Ryan and I went over to my parents' friends house - Mike and Kim Johnson. They have twins that are some of Spencers best friends so he and all of his friends were there too. The Johnsons have a perfect view of Fayetteville and we saw fireworks from all directions. A first for me was eating a roasted pig. Every year the Johnsons buy a whole pig, put it on a spit and roast it.

For the day I made patriotic cupcakes. I put colored frosting on them and when they were put together it looked like an American flag. I was so proud of myself and mad that I didn't a picture of them.

Oh Sunday we went up to Rogers and had lunch with Ryan's family. We got there and couldn't figure out why there was so much food when it was just going to be the 6 of us. Then his dad said "I just grilled everything I had so you boys couldn't eat it for the week." This made them very happy.

Overall we had a great long weekend. Here are some pictures from my mom's camera.

Don't we look patriotic? I even had on red shoes :)

Spencer and the Mrs. Johnson. I wonder how much she had to pay him to put that thing on?

Love the parents!
