Some More of Jeni's Wedding

I just looked at the Hudson website and saw that some of Jeni's pics were up. Kara from Bliss! took Jeni's wedding pictures and from the 20 that I saw, they look great. These 2 just make me laugh. I love my Delta girls!

Cookout at my house

Spencer and cousin Matt
Everyone around the bon fire

Last Friday night I decided to have a cookout at my place. We grilled hamburgers and made chilli dogs. After we all ate, the guys built a mini bonfire and we sat around and drank and just talked. The fire was nice because it got down to 50 degrees that night. All of our firends came and my mom and dad and Spencer. Both mine and Ryan's cousins came as well. It was a nice laid back night. We had tons of fun.

You know you've got a GREAT man when...

...he is continually talking you up to impress other people.

(warning this post may be a little mushy)

Let me set the stage. Ryan's roommate is Patrick Higham. Patrick's dad is Paul Higham who use to be the Chief Marketing Officer at Walmart for 8 years. So naturally I was very intrigued by this becuase I work with Walmart in their PR and Marketing departments. Patrick told us that his parents were coming in for a day and that he was going to have dinner with them. So what did I do? I invited myself to that dinner! Yes I did. I wanted to meeting the man who came up with the Walmart Smiley face. I mean come on people, I occasionally meet in the "Paul Higham Conference Room" at the home office. You know you would have done the same thing.

So we were off to PF Changs. Ryan knew I was excited about this. I had been talking about it for a while. Throughout the dinner I was trying to be polite and not talk about work the whole time but Mr. Higham was very interesting. He kept telling us stories about Mr. Sam (Walton that is) because they were good friends.

Anyway, Ryan could tell I was holding back so he decided to do the talking for me. Ryan and Patrick grew up together so he felt comfortable talking so openingly with Mr. Higham. Throughout the dinner, Ryan would say things like "now what big shot at the home office complimented you?" and "you have met with the current CMO right?" or "tell Mr. Higham about when you spent 3 months at the home office." He even told the Highams about the other leadership roles I have in outside groups.

Ryan really wanted Mr. Higham to be impressed by me and I thought that was very sweet. I know this may seem small to some people but it meant a lot to me. He is always encouraging me and is always proud of my accomplishments.

Thank you Ryan for helping me out and standing by me. I am so lucky to have a guy like you!

Go Naturals

Last week Ryan and I and some of our others friends decided to go to a NWA Naturals baseball game. The Naturals are our local minor league team and a great source of cheap entertainment. I mean come on, the tickets are cheaper than a movie! We had tons of fun and there was a beautiful full moon. It was also $1 beer night so we had some drinks and pigged out on great ball park food. We also stayed for the entire game. The Nats came from behind and won!

Hudson Lewis Harriman

The New Harriman Family: Nathan, Sarah and Hudson Lewis

Tuesday morning, Aug. 4 I woke up and was laughing about the dream I had. I had a dream that I was telling my cousins Nathan and Sarah that I was posting pictures of their new baby Hudson on my blog. Sarah wasn't due until August 17 and they didn't know if they were going to have a Hudson (boy) or a Sydney (girl). I immediately emailed Sarah about my dream and told her to get ready, the baby was coming.
Wednesday at 1 p.m. I get a phone call from Aunt Janie - she is on her way to the hospital because Sarah is in labor.

In my family I am now called the prophet because Hudson Lewis Harriman was born at 9:17 p.m. on Wednesday night. He weighed 8lbs 4oz and was 20 inches long. He has a head full of beautiful dark hair.

I went to the hospital around 6:15 Wednesday night and Sarah was dialated at 6 centimeters. By 7 p.m. she was fully dialated and ready to push! We thought we would have a baby in less than an hour. Well Hudson wasn't ready just yet because Sarah pushed for over 2 hours but then he made his entrance into the world. I am so excited to have another addition to our family and another little man to spoil rotten.

Here are some pictures from last night that Sarah's sister Laura took.

The exact moment Nathan came out and told us we had a new baby boy in the family.....the new Grandmother (my aunt Janie)was so excited!
