An Update

Sadly, I still have no camera so I will not be able to add any pics but I thought I would give an update anyway. Nothing too exciting has happened but I'm sure somebody will find the trivial facts of my life entertaining (I hope).

May
JD came home from school for a whole 3 days and then he was off to travel the world. He left for Greece and will be studying abroad there for 3 months. He was really excited about the trip and couldn't wait to get there. I know he will have a great time. Mom and one of her friends are going to see him in July.

I am slowly getting settled in my house. I still need a few things to complete it but it is pretty much put together. I even got some really neat furniture. Uncle Jerry and Aunt Julie gave me Leah's old table and glass shelving unit for my kitchen. I was so excited to get her furniture and feel lucky that I have a piece of her in my house. Besides all the good stuff, I woke up one morning to a pile of ceiling tiles in my dinning room. That's right, the ceiling collapsed in the middle of the night. How I didn't hear that I'm not sure. Slept right through it. It is being fixed now so now worries.

We have had a couple of get togethers at my house which have been fun. The Smith Aunts gave me a grill for my birthday so we have been able to use that and make a mini bon fire in the fire pit in my back yard. I have figured out I like hosting people.

Tackle is finally getting settled I think in his new home. When I took him to the vet, the doc told me that he has severe separation anxiety - which would explain the broken window. Apparently Tackle is a bit of a momma's boy. My gate got fixed so now he is able to stay outside during the day. I feel better about not having to lock him up in the house all day.

I have also figured out that I am getting way into too many tv shows lately. The Bachelorette started again, I had to watch Arkansas Boy Kris win on American Idol and the new season of Jon and Kate Plus 8 returned. I have to say though, with everything going on in the Goselin's world I am a little turned off by the show, but I can't help but watch. The show seemed so much better when the couple could actually be in the same room together.

Well that's an update on my life up until this point. May was pretty low key which is nice because June will be jam packed: Trip to NC, Stacia moves to NWA, girls' weekend, weddings and wedding showers.

Sweet Puppy/BAD Tackle!

Some people post their kid updates, I am going to post a dog update. Tomorrow marks the second week that Tackle has been home with me. He is a great dog most of the time but there are times when he is just a holy terror! Below are his naughty and nice lists.

BAD DOG!
- He broke a window in his room while I was at work one day - that cost me $115 to replace.
- After breaking that window he decided to chew my camera into tiny little pieces
- While he is house broken and never pees inside, he doesn't seem to understand that you must poop outside as well.
- When i was getting ready one morning he walked past me and pulled my Chi flat iron into the toilet ruining it.
- The only thing he chews on is my shoes. Luckily none have been ruined so far.
- He does not understand the concept of a leash just yet.
- Last weekend, the second I opened the gate he took off for the highway. He ran into the street and 2 cars had to swerve not to hit him.

Sweet Doggie! (now for some of the good things)
- When I am home, Tackle follows me around everywhere. He never wants to leave my side.
- He is not allowed on the furniture so when I sit on the couch he sits by my feet and puts his head in my lap and will stay there for hours if I let him.
- He will not lay on his doggie bed for anything, he'd rather lay on the ground next to it then on the comfy pad.
- He takes his medicine like a champ (as long as it's wrapped in Turkey)
- His football toy has become his version of a security blanket - he has to have it in every room he is in, even if he is not playing with it.
- I have not heard him bark once since I got him
- He sleeps through the night.

Tomorrow I am taking him for his first vet visit to get groomed and to get he stitches removed. We will see how that goes.

Pics of the Rent House

Here are pictures of the front and back of my rent house. You can't see my house from the street so I felt ok about posting pics of it. I was planning on taking pics of the inside but one certain dog decided to make my camera his new chew toy so there won't be any pics until I can get a new digital camera. Hopefully that will be soon. I also have more to tell of that certain dog...

Update on Micah-
Thank you for the prayers. Micah's body was found over the weekend. Continue to keep her family in your thoughts.

Prayers for Micah and her Family

This is Micah and she was one of my camp counselors when I was younger at Camp Tahkodah in Searcy, AR. She and her husband live in the Memphis area. She went for a run with her dog on Thursday night and did not return. These days you hear about so many women disappearing but its completely different when it is somebody that you know. I haven't seen Michah in probably 12-15 years but I do specifically remember her and her parents who worked at the camp. Please pray for her safe return and comfort for her family and friends. Below is an article that ran in the Memphis Commerical Appeal on Friday.

Bartlett woman disappears after going for Thursday night run

Bartlett police are looking for a 26-year-old woman who went for a run Thursday night and did not return.

Micah Pate of 3591 Foxfield Trail, left her house about 8:30 p.m. Two hours later, her husband – Thomas Pate – called police and said she hadn’t returned. Thomas Pate said his wife normally is in bed by 10 p.m. She left her vehicle, purse, cell phone and keys at the house.
Micah Pate was still missing today, and her husband told police he is worried she may have been abducted.

Bartlett Police Insp. Jeff Cox, said they are concerned because it is uncharacteristic for Pate.
“We don’t suspect foul play at this time,” Cox said, “but we are concerned about her whereabouts.”

The missing woman is about 5-foot-5, weighs 115 pounds with blond hair and blue eyes. She was wearing a long sleeve blue shirt and brown pants when she left home.
