Yesterday was the "big" 28. Just another typical birthday, with the exclusion of any celebratory drinks. P-Nut really enjoyed all the extra treats I got, which included 8 cupcakes all for me! I might have shared one or two.
I decided to keep the celebration low key this year so Ryan and I met up with Collin and Zach at Doe's for some steak and Tamales. We had a great time chatting and catching up and stuffing our faces. It would have been the perfect ending to the night except as we were walking to get our car, we see our car being towed away because we were 15 minutes late on our parking. Yes, I said 15 minutes. The guy must have been sitting in the lot waiting for somebody's to expire. It would take him at least 10 minutes to hook it up. So $65 (there goes my birthday money) and an hour later, we are finally on our way home. We were both so mad and Ryan even told the guy he "ruined his wife's birthday." That was the first time either of us has had a car towed.
Anyway, we both cooled off by the time we got home and I was thinking back to earlier that evening when I was getting my relaxing pedicure. At least my toes sure do look pretty.
Here is P-Nut at 30 weeks in his/her nursery. At my last appt. everything was still on track and I am measuring right on schedule. My appts are now 2 weeks apart so I go again next week.

Starting to Get a Bit Anxious
So it finally hit me. I am starting to get very anxious to meet our P-Nut. I don't know why, but up until now, I have been pretty calm about the birth and haven't really "yearned" to see this baby. Don't get me wrong, I can't wait to meet my son or daughter but until now, I think I just knew I had such a long time to wait that I didn't let myself get too excited. Or maybe because there is also sheer terror in the fact that I am about to become a mother, I know nothing about being a mother, but yet I am expected to know everything about it on the birth date. Maybe my subconscious was giving me a break from those realizations.
I think my increased excitement and anticipation is because there are a lot of babies being born around me. Kelsey had Faye baby and my cousin Amy is set to be induced next week. Or maybe because we are starting to make a solid plan on what to do at work when I go on maternity leave - there is a lot to organize when you are the only person in the entire agency that knows how to do your job.
We were driving home last week and Ryan said "About 2.5 months now." Simultaneously we responded "wow!" I have been very lucky that this has been such an easy pregnancy and that it has flown by.
These days I feel very attached to my husband. I am trying to cherish every moment we spend together because I know it will be completely different once P-Nut arrives. He senses my anxiousness about the change and has been very good to assure me we will adapt. In fact, he has been very good about so many things. I appreciate all that he has done.
P-Nut continues to grow and I pray nightly that he/she will be fully developed and be healthy on his/her birth date. Until then, we will continue to check things off our to do list and prepare as much as we can!

Our Bunch and Our Babies!
It's amazing how quickly you shift to and from life stages. I felt like, literally, just yesterday me and my friends were all getting married - 4 in one year and the other 3 following in the next 2 years.
Now, we are moving into the baby stage. Bekah was the first with precious Anna, no surprise there, and then Jeni was the second, with Cohen and Annabelle both within 11 months.
Then came Kelsey and we expect Faye baby any day now. I was the 4th to announce then Bekah surprised us with #2 on the way and yesterday we found out Stacia will welcome Baby P in October!!!!
It is all so exciting. Our group will have 4 babies this year within 6 months of each other. It is hard to believe that 4 out of 7 are pregnant at the same time. I hope our children get to grow up seeing each other every once in a while when their mommies get together.
These girls have been my besties since college and I am so lucky to have them in my life. I love them all to pieces! I wouldn't want to go through these life journeys with anybody else!
Looks like Kendall and Collin - yall are up next! :)
Here is all 7 of us in our "wedding pose." We had this pose taken at all of our weddings

Yes, this one is going to be a mama! :)

Ordering a Bridesmaid's Dress at 5 months Pregnant
As you know, my little brother is getting married this summer. Actually, it is 3 weeks after P-Nut is due. Great timing on our part, I know. Anyway, I was so honored to be asked by Lyndsey to be a bridesmaid in the wedding. Ryan is also a groomsman. Of course we both said yes, and of course it was before we knew our little one was on the way.
I have been very nervous about this just because I know that there is no way I was going to lose all the baby weight in just 3 short weeks, plus, how in the world do you know what size of dress to order?
Well, there is actually quite an easy formula come to find out. Lyndsey is ordering her dresses from the same place that I ordered my bridesmaids dresses so I went up to the shop to talk this through with them. I walked in the door and immediately the attendant said, "You must be Lyndsey's pregnant bridesmaid" - Yep that's me.
She asked when I was due and then how far along I was (5 months at that point) then I got a "Perfect!" Excuse me, I ask? She said this happens quite often. We tell bridesmaids on average the size that you are at 5 months pregnant is what you will be anywhere from 1-6 weeks after the birth. Well, how coincidental.
So she pulled out her handy dandy tape measure and took my measurements exactly as I was at that point, belly and all. Even better is that they had almost the exact dress Lyndsey picked for us in stock and I was able to try it on. Bless Lyndsey's little heart for picking a one-should dress with an empire waist! I tried on the size she measured me at and it fit perfectly. We both decided to order a size larger just in case. I'd rather have more room than not enough.
It came time to go over everything and I got a little tickled when the saleswoman got nervous about telling me what size she was going to order me - 14! It's like she thought I would breakdown or something. I just laughed and told her I actually thought it would be bigger. She even made me sign the order form so she had proof that I agreed to it.
I am so glad I went in to the store because it put my mind at ease. The dresses will be beautiful and very flattering on everybody. If you ever find yourself in my same predicament have no fear, there is a solution! Just wait to order your dress until you hit the 5-month mark and it should fit perfectly. Here's hoping at least....

27 Weeks - HELLLLLO 3rd Trimester!
I got my weekly update email today from TheBump.com and it told me I am now in the 3rd Trimester. Holy Crap! That really took me by surprise.
Our last appt was last Friday when I had the Glucose test. Results came back negative for gestational diabetes (Yay!) but it did come back with results that I am slightly anemic. Therefore, from here on out, I need to take an iron supplement 2 times a day. The nurse said this should give me more energy during the day (double Yay!) and is nothing that is too concerning.
The heart rate was 135 and P-Nut was moving around so much it was hard for the Doc to get a clear heartbeat reading. Our next appointment is in 3 weeks and then after that we go twice the next month and then down to every week. I can't believe we are that close!
Saturday we attended the all-day childbirth marathon class. Ryan and I learned a lot and realized there are a lot of decisions that still need to be made -we actually have to create some sort of birth plan. One of the most useful things I learned was the pure awesomeness of a "birthing ball" aka the large inflatable exercise balls. Just by sitting on it and rocking I was able to relieve some of the pressure on my back. We went and bought one the next day so I could use it at home. We will take it to the hospital for the delivery as well.
We also got to tour the Labor and Delivery wing at the hospital. It was nice to get a sense of where you need to go when you are first in labor and what the rooms will be like. We will be assigned a room that we will be in for the entire time - labor, delivery and recovery.
My symptoms lately are a lot of back pain and I am not sleeping through the night as well as I use to. My face is still breaking out like a pre-teen so I guess I will be dealing with that for the duration.
Here is our 27-week picture. Lately I have been hearing a lot of "wow you have popped" and "you finally look pregnant." No turning back now :)
